ITS Thursday! we are ready for our Safari this weekend we leave early in the morning!
Today we read books to the kids counted to 100 and practiced ABC's! Then I taut the kids the Chicken Dance! IT was sooo fun!
Can't wait to share all our stories!
We will be participating in several service learning activities while we are in Tanzania. We will care for infants and children in orphanages, daycares and centers for street children; teach children conversational English and assist teachers with special education; participate in income-generating activities to help work toward women’s empowerment; and help with office work and other essential tasks within the hospitals. We will also be enrolled in a three-credit Study Abroad academic course.

Update
Yesterday we were invited to help build onto a school in Bagamoyo. not knowing what to expect we went into it whole heartedly! As we arrived Children, teens, and women were already getting started, we hurriedly jumped into any assembly lines that were being formed, passing buckets full of rock, sand, water, and finally cement. Many of the volunteers were covered in cement and dirt! shoes in all! It was an amazing cultural experience, and I believe that we are going back next week to finish the rest of the building! We could not be more excited.
Our placements are amazing and the Ocean is WARM! We are all so happy here and can not wait to share all of our stories with you when we get back! Check back for more exiting details. !!

We are all hanging out in the Hotel lobby, waiting on the CCS bus, 2 hours till we get to Bagamoyo for orientation! I slept well last night, and was able to Skype with my parents as well. It was awesome! Today we figured out where the pool was today as we explored the hotel it is on the 3rd floor and outside on a patio! SO Sweet!

Update: Plane ride!
These are posts from the flight. We didn't have internet then...so I'm just posting it now.
So far it's good. Crowded and quiet. Sleeping has been a challenge for many of us. We had chicken and potatoes with a salad and a roll for one of our plane meals. Other meals consisted of pasta, pizza, and for breakfast we had yogurt, orange juice and a pastry. We all have been taken care of really well so far. We landed in Zurich, Switzerland. We had a 3 hour wait for our second flight. I had a turning stomach and a stuffy head, but I never freaked out our got nervous. (For those of you who don't know it was my first time flying.)
Update 2:
I have no idea what time it is or even what day, but it has been a fun ride so far. We dropped off many passengers in Nairobi and were left with almost an empty plane. We waited an hour for fueling and it took us an hour to fly to Dar es Salaam. We are safely at the Holiday Inn right now. And tomorrow morning we will be picked up by CCS to go to Bagamoyo and the home base for orientation! :)
"Jambo" from Africa! :) Thank you everyone for all of your support! We'll try to update you again as soon as possible. But just REMEMBER no news is GOOD news!!
